My name is Richard Reece, a website developer in Barbados in the West Indies. I was born in Australia, but my parents are both Bajan and, after a few years in Australia, had their one and only and came back to live in Barbados (and have been here ever since).
As for working experience, Sunbeach Jobs of website development companies and a couple of ISPs including my last job as Webmaster at Sunbeach Communications Inc. for almost seven years. In the new year of 2008, I resigned in order to expand my own company, WebDev Designs, which I have been working on and off for the last five years or so. I hadn’t been putting in the time that I should have to make extra money so I thought I would now put all of my focus into it. I thought that it had come time to try my hand at being my own boss, running my own business and getting self-satisfaction after all of these years of working for others.
As some people will attest, it is not a simple task of picking up and going out on your own. This is especially so on a small island such as Barbados, but in this day and age, a website is important to companies who want to show their products and services online to the rest of the world. A website is like a car… it always needs maintenance, a few tweaks here and there and sometimes a good overhaul just to keep things running smoothly. Technology is always changing, hardware- and software-wise, but I believe that websites have their own transitions, mainly for those that see their website being an important selling tool in their business. Plus, a lot of people out there, big and small business persons alike, still are not sure what is involved in the creation of a website….
… I hope to be the person that can help them figure it out…
